ANN A. WILSON - SCIENCE PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Ann A. Wilson is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Educators. Ann is the Science Program Coordinator with the Louisiana Department of Education.

Ann is an accomplished educational leader with over 25 years of experience. In her current role as Science Program Coordinator, Ann coordinates science standards initiatives and guides the work of groups and the development of Louisiana’s standards and curriculum for science. In addition, she reviews standards-based (CRT) science state test items for content accuracy and provides teacher training on effective science instruction and assessment upon request. In addition, she serves on many state and national committees on topics related to standards-based instruction, research-based teaching strategies, professional development, assessment, and environmental issues in education.

Ann is extremely proficient in the areas of planning, management, organization, communication, research, leadership, training, creating professional newsletters, and providing informative presentations on a variety of topics.

Additionally, Ann is a member of the Council of State Science Supervisors (CSSS), Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA), Environmental Education Steering Committee, Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC), STEM Advisory Committee, Louisiana Environmental Association (LEEA), Louisiana Environmental Education Commission (LEEC), ASCD, NSTA, LSTA, LASL, LABT, and is a Phi Mu alumni.

Ann received her Science Certification from NLU, as well as her M.Ed in Administration and Supervision from ULM. In addition, she received her B.S. FACS Education with a Science Minor, Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University. She holds a Type A Certificate 013398 in Supervision, Biological Sciences and FACS.

In the future, Ann hopes to continue to make a positive difference in the lives and work of those with who she is in contact and strives to provide the science program with the highest quality and most current information and strategies possible. Furthermore, Ann hopes to influence state and national policy related to education as well as to improve the educational experience for students and teachers in Louisiana.
