BETSY O. CARPENTER - PRESIDENT

Betsy O. Carpenter is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Educators. Betsy is the President of BC Enterprises, an education consulting and continuing professional education network dedicated to improving formal and informal education organizations. In addition, BC Enterprises provides a broad range of services, trainings and products.

Since 1981, Betsy has provided consultant services through BC Enterprises to the non-profit sector including formal and informal education organizations.  In 2006, Betsy decided to pursue consulting on a full-time basis and build a network of education consultants with expertise in specific education services.

Through her work at BC Enterprises, Betsy has had a great impact on the field of education. One of Betsy’s major contributions to the field is publishing the Gifted and Talented Evaluation Scales (GATES). GATES satisfies the critical national need for a norm-referenced instrument that assesses the characteristics, skills, and talents of gifted students.

In addition, Betsy has published various professional journal articles and has made presentations at local, state and national conferences.  Over the past twenty years, she has served on many professional education advisory boards and Texas Education Agency special committees.  She also co-founded McKinney Roughs Writers, a grant writers’ network in central Texas.

Betsy is a member of the Texas Association of Environmental Education, and is extremely active in the community.

She received her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University and her master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Texas at Austin.

In the future, Betsy looks to continue the success she has found within the field of education and to continue to share her professional knowledge and vast expertise with others.
