Cedric Reverand is recognized by
Continental Who’s Who among Distinguished Educators. Cedric is a Professor of English Literature at the University of Wyoming.
Cedric’s teaching expertise lies in the areas of 17th, 18th, and 19th - century English literature, including courses on poetry and Dickens. In addition, he also teaches Fine Arts courses which include aspects of architecture, painting, sculpture, and music.
Additionally, Cedric is also the Director of Cultural Programs for which he is responsible for booking and running the University of Wyoming’s performing arts series, which is one of the largest and most prestigious programs in the Rocky Mountain region. As an experienced scholar and editor, Cedric has proficient knowledge of the arts, and of current performing artists. It is Cedric who is most responsible for bringing performers of national and international reputation into the state of Wyoming.
Cedric’s love for the arts extends into his life away from the classroom as well. He is an accomplished jazz piano player, as well as harpsichord player, specializing in baroque music. Additionally, Cedric is an accomplished photographer who does all of his own processing and printing in traditional media. He especially enjoys black and white photography using a 4x5 view camera.
Furthermore, Cedric is a talented author with numerous published works including, Dryden’s Final Poetic Mode: The ‘Fables’ (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1988), as well as over 50 articles and 700 reviews in scholarly journals. Cedric is also the General Editor of the Scholarly Journal, Eighteenth-Century Life, published by Duke University Press.
Cedric’s professional achievements have not gone unnoticed. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including, Fellow, Life Member (Honorary)- Clare Hall, Cambridge University, George Duke Humphrey Distinguished Professor (University of Wyoming’s Highest Honor), Pepsi Presidential Award for Excellence, Ellbogen Award for Meritorious Teaching, Mortar Board “Top Professional” Award, Western Arts Alliance Betty Connor Award for Outstanding Service for the Performing Arts.
Cedric received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, M.A. from Columbia University, and B.A. from Yale University.
