W. HENRY JERNIGAN, JR. - PARTNER
W. Henry Jernigan is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Leading Lawyer. Henry is a Partner in the Litigation Department of Dinsmore & Sohl LLP. Henry is the former Managing Partner for West Virginia and is a former member of the firm's Board of Directors and Management Council.
In his current role, he focuses on the defense of complex litigation involving corporate disputes and product liability claims. He served as a law clerk for the Hon. H.E. Widener, Jr., United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Henry is a member of many prestigious professional organizations including, the West Virginia State Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, past president, Defense Research Institute, Federalist Society, Rotary International, Paul Harris Scholar, Thomas Memorial Hospital Foundation (Board of Directors), Charleston Area Alliance (Business Development Committee), United Way of the Greater Kanawha Valley (Campaign Coordination Committee), as well as the West Virginia Coal Association.
As a result of his professionalism and subsequent success in the Law profession, Henry has been Peer Review Rated AV in Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America®. In addition, he is listed in Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers, and has been selected for the West Virginia Super Lawyers® List. Furthermore, Henry has been named one of The American Lawyers' Top Commercial Lawyers, Leading WV Business Lawyer by WV Inc., 2007, and has earned the honor of being featured as a "Local Litigation Star" in Benchmark Litigation.
Henry earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1975 as well as his B.S. also from Washington and Lee University in 1972.
