JOSEPH T. SVETE - PARTNER

Joseph T. Svete is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Law Professionals. Joseph is Partner with Svete & McGee Co., LPA.

Joseph founded Svete & McGee in 1971.  Through the years, the firm saw its client base grow with legal services in personal injury, insurance defense, real estate, probate  estate planning, corporate, small business organizations, criminal law, and family law.  Svete & McGee has continued to build on their client base by providing timely, quality services and receiving continuing referrals from clients. As Partner, Joseph’s current emphasis lies in the areas of Real Estate, Estate Planning, Probate, and Personal Injury.

In addition to his role with Svete & McGee, Joseph is extremely involved in the community. He believes that an important part of being a good lawyer includes understanding the importance of dedicating a portion of ones time in professional, charitable and community activities. As a result of this philosophy, Joseph was elected the Ohio State Bar Association President in (1988-1989), Geauga County Bar Association President 1974-1976, past President of the Geauga County Law Library  Association and a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline.  Charitable activities include, past President of the American Cancer Society, past Chairman of the Chardon Township Zoning Commission, past Chairman of the Geauga County Pollution Advisory Board, trustee and secretary of the Board of Trustee of Lake Erie College.  In business, leadership roles, Vice Chairman of the Lake County National Bank, Vice Chairman of the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance and past member of the board at the Great Lakes Bank.

Joseph earned his JD from Cleveland Marshall Law School, as well as his BS from Case Institute of Technology.
