SELMA UNLU - SENIOR PARTNER

Selma Unlu is extremely knowledgeable in the field of commercial law and areas of Intellectual property, Media, Technology, Life Science, Pharmaceutical and Product Liability. Her knowledge stems from first-hand experience working as a partner for 14 years in Mehmet Gun & Partners  as well as working as a senior partner with NSN LAW FIRM chairing Intellectual property, Media, Technology, Life Science, Pharmaceutical and Product Liability practice groups. Selma has significant experience in handling large IP portfolio of famous brands; in negotiating complex license, know how, copyright agreements and in IP due diligence for companies engaged in the IT business, including content and technology development and licensing, e-commerce, advertising and distribution and she advised clients holding 40 percent of the ticketing and box office incomes from entertainment business in Turkey in terms of providing full service to clients in preparing the framework of their legal contracts, copyright, broadcasting and advertisement laws. Selma also has specialization in product liability litigations caused by tire, electronics and pharmaceuticals.

Selma was awarded one of the best IP practitioner in Turkey 2008  by MIP and acts as an Judicial Expert appointed by Istanbul IP Courts and Commercial Courts. Selma is a Panelist before the WIPO for the Domain Name Disputes.
She is a member of many professional organizations including ECTA, MARQUES,AIPPI, IBA, PTMG and being active in their working teams. She has many published works that include but not limited to; Pharmaceutical Trademarks and INNs; 3D Trademark Protection  in Turkey; Promotion of Pharmaceuticals under Turkish Law; Avoiding the Confusion of Medications.

She received her diploma in  Private International Law from Wolverhampton University, UK, in 1995 and completed Business Administration Courses for Industry and Commerce, at the London Chamber of Commerce in 1995, in addition to her LLB from Marmara University Faculty of Law in Istanbul in 1990.
