Having garnered 42 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Alfred M. Kalman is currently is in practice with Oncology & Hematology Associates of West Broward in Tamarac Florida. As a Partner of the practice, he has devoted the last 37 years to providing top quality comprehensive care in hematology-oncology with close links to all the major cancer centers. He brings valuable knowledge in treating in all areas of medical oncology and hematology including solid and liquid tumors, and benign hematology. Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Kalman serves as the president of the medical staff at the University Community Hospital in Tamarac, Florida.
To prepare for his distinguished career, Dr. Kalman completed his undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1974. Then he went on to obtain his Medical degree in 1978 at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, and later completed an Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals. With a commitment to excellence, Dr. Kalman is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Oncology/Hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Hematology, and the American Board of Medical Oncology. He is also certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
With over four decades of professional excellence, Dr. Kalman has also excelled within his academic appointments. From 1984 to 1985, he served as the Assistant Professor of Oncology at the University of Miami, followed by Chief of Staff at the University Hospital in Tamarac, FL from 2002 to 2005. Since 2011, Dr. Kalman is serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Nova University in Davie, FL.
Remaining aware of the last advancements in his field, Dr. Kalman maintains active memberships with the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Internal Medicine, Southern Association for Oncology, University of Miami Center for Blood Disease, Broward County Medical Society, Florida Medical Association, Florida Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology.
Active in his field, Dr. Kalman maintains active memberships and affiliations with numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
