White Rock, BC - Andrea Montgomery Di Marco, Ph.D., is being recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Lifetime Achiever for her influential work as the CEO of Flourishing Foundation: Global Women Seeking Change.
As the CEO of Flourishing Foundation: Global Women Seeking Change for two years, she is heavily involved in Anti-Racism work. The organization strives to reflect both diversity and inclusion; the governing Board is comprised of 75% women, and 75% IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, and People of Color). Dr. Montgomery Di Marco leads an organization focused on the three pillars of education, entrepreneurial support, and reunification of families, to make the world a better place. She fights each day to abolish the racist, colonial, and patriarchal worldviews that hold back humanity.
Dr. Montgomery Di Marco isn't waiting for change to happen -she is making it happen now as the CEO of Flourishing Foundation. She believes anything is possible if even one person speaks up and demands positive change; she focuses her efforts on praxis, not just theoretical concerns. She works to build cultural advancements and societal betterment in sustainable ways. This includes bringing more exposure to the essential anti-racism teachings of Flourishing Foundation: Global Women Seeking Change.
As a grassroots initiative, Flourishing Foundation supports and funds education, entrepreneurship, and family reunification for refugee-immigrant and Indigenous women. They encourage women to become driving forces in their community and to support programs that build more diverse and sustainable communities. Families who have been displaced can participate in a reunification initiative that invites the community to sponsor the family. The Foundation promoted Global Women Catering, a refugee-immigrant women's catering crew in 2019, which provides delicious catered food for large events in the Metro-Vancouver area. They also offer annual grants for refugee-immigrants and Indigenous women in Canada to receive an education, which is a proven way to promote later marriages and higher wages. Flourishing Foundation believes that "Canada flourishes when communities flourish," and "the full and equal participation of women in the economy is not just the right thing to do; it's also good for the bottom line."
Aside from funding and running sustainable women's programs, the Flourishing Foundation engages in conversations between First Nations women, Refugee-Immigrant women, Immigrant women, and Canadian-born women, and creates a space where women can make decisions that directly impact their lives. Living through injustices, war, poverty, and displacement can be traumatic, and Flourishing Foundation hopes to help families facing language barriers, poverty, or economic disadvantages to find community and funding. Dr. Montgomery Di Marco works with a team of over ten individuals from many walks of life, and encourages people to get in touch, get involved, and create thriving communities through the Foundation.
