He offers an extensive background in all areas of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics to the group practice. At Progressive Health Care, PC, Dr. Korkigian demonstrates the highest level of clinical excellence. He holds staff privileges at William Beaumont Hospitals - Royal Oak and Farmington Hills.. In addition to his clinical role, he is the Clinical Professor at The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and educator for residents at Beaumont Hospital.
To prepare for his distinguished medical career, Dr. Korkigian graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1978. He then went on to complete a four-year post graduate Internal Medicine residency at Beaumont Hospital Farmington Hills in 1982. With a commitment to excellence, he became board-certified in Internal Medicine in 1982 by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and recertified in Geriatrics in 2014 by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine-Geriatrics.
Remaining abreast of the latest advancements in his field, Dr. Korkigian maintains active memberships with the American Osteopathic Medical Association and the American College of Osteopathy.
In recognition of his clinical and academic excellence, Dr. Korkigian is the recipient of several awards. He voted for the Top Doctor Award in Hour Magazine Detroit eight times, and received the Trainer of the Year Award at William Beaumont Farmington Hills nine times. Additionally, he was voted National Teacher of the Year by the American College of Osteopathic Internists in 2013 and inducted in the Gillum Society of Master Fellows in 2015, one of the highest honors awarded by the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
