
Windsor, NJ ‒ Christian Andrew Wethe is being recognized by
Continental Who’s Who as a Trusted Professional for his excellent work in the
Civil Engineering field and in acknowledgment of his work with the US Coast
Guard.
Now retired, Mr. Wethe has had a long and successful career
spanning multiple fields and decades of experience. He has many years of
experience as a civil engineer and planner, and dedicated decades to his
country with his service in the US Coast Guard and US Coast Guard Reserves.
To prepare for his career in Civil Engineering, Mr. Wethe began at Brown
University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in
1964. Next, he attended Tufts University in 1967, where he graduated with a
Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. In 1967, he also joined the
United States Coast Guard. A decade later, he returned to school, attending
Central Michigan University, where he received his Master of Arts degree in
Business Management in 1981. A highly educated professional in his line of
work, Mr. Wethe is a Registered Professional Engineer.
In previous roles, Mr. Wethe taught Civil Engineering at Tufts University from
1966-1967, and worked as a research engineer for the College of Marine Studies
at the University of Delaware. Mr. Wethe worked as a research engineer for more
than ten years, managing two research support labs and collaborating with
faculty members on research projects. He found and processed samples from
coastal locations to aid research developments. As the owner of Wethe
Engineering Associates, Mr. Wethe operated an environmental consulting business
from 1983-1985.
Mr. Wethe retired as a Commander in 2005 after over two decades of exceptional
work in the US Coast Guard. He enlisted in the military in 1967, and served
until 1971 as Commander. He then dedicated 18 years to the US Coast Guard
Reserves, developing a computer program to assist in planning emergency
responses. He worked in Portsmouth, VA, as a contingency planner until his
retirement in 2005. The program is still utilized long after his retirement,
leaving a lasting impact.
Awards and recognitions for Mr. Wethe’s decades of dedication include the
Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, Marquis Who’s Who Top
Engineers, and Marquis Who’s Who Milestones. He has recently been featured in a
profile video produced by Marquis Listee Videos. Mr. Wethe is affiliated with
the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is a Lifetime Member of the
Reserve Officers Association in recognition of his military service.
Mr. Wethe attributes his successes to his listening skills, which allows him to
implement ideas and facilitate collaboration. On a personal note, Mr. Wethe
enjoys staying involved in his community. He helps with tax preparation through
the American Association of Retired Persons, and is a parishioner at his local
church.
