Dr. Braaten pursued higher education at Lynn University where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business. He completed pre-medical studies at Harvard Extension School and earned a Master of Arts in Medical Sciences from Boston University. He then attended Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree completing his residency in internal medicine at Kansas City University of Biological Sciences/Unity Health.

Specialized in Internal Medicine, Dr. Conrad D. Braaten, DO, MA, practices at Oak St. Health, a value-based healthcare company that primarily serves Medicare patients. His focus is primarily on preventive care to keep patients healthy and minimize hospital admissions. He notes that he prioritizes patient education and offers services such as a free shuttle service for those unable to drive.
