Cozette has over 40 years of experience as a teacher and principal in elementary and high school settings. She has also served as the Chief Education Officer and Chief Labor Negotiator for numerous major school districts. In her current position, Cozette specializes in educational leadership; labor relations management; mentoring; and human resources. Throughout her career, she has served as the Distinguished Professor of Education at Roosevelt University in Chicago and has worked in Philadelphia, St. Louis, New Orleans, Newark, NJ, Milwaukee and Chester, PA. Her most recent work was in Bridgeport, CT and Indianapolis, IN.

During her impressive educational career, Cozette earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Vanderbilt University and also holds a M.S. in Education from Chicago State University. She is currently a member of numerous professional organizations including NAPW; NABSE; Girl Scouts of America; Illinois One Family One Child; Illinois Education Fund; Old St. Mary's School Board; and the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association.
