
Corona, CA – Cynthia McCoy Miller is being recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Top Executive in the field of Children and Family Services.
Ms McCoy Miller has achieved administrative acclaim in Child Welfare, with over 40 years of professional experience. She is committed to identifying and allocating the proper resources and revenue sources to support the Department's mission: to promote child safety, permanency, and the well-being of children and families.
Ms. McCoy Miller has been employed with Los Angeles County since 1980. She is a Senior Deputy Director with the County of Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services and has administrative oversight for the Department's Mega Bureau.
In her Senior Deputy Director role, Ms. McCoy Miller is responsible for multiple operations and bureaus within the Mega Bureau, including the Contracts Services Bureau, which includes more than 400 DCFS contracts, totaling over $600 million. Also in the Mega Bureau is the Finance and Administrative Services Bureau, responsible for maintaining an annual budget topping $2 billion, Human Resources Division, which provides service for over 9,000 employees, and the Revenue Enhancement Division, which is responsible for determining eligibility for the 35,000 children who receive these services. In this capacity, she also oversees the Business Information Systems Division, responsible for the procurement, development, and management of more than 60 web-based and client-server application systems and business intelligence reporting systems.
She received her AA in Social Work degree from Los Angeles Southwest College in 1987. Ms. McCoy Miller received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Cal-State Poly Pomona in 1992. Eager to continue her education, she graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 1996.
Her overall goal is to ensure optimum support through infrastructure, administrative, programmatic, and information technology services to support the achievement of child safety, well-being, and equity for the marginalized and underserved populations by partnering with communities. She works tirelessly and is also committed to strengthening families in her communities, keeping children home when possible, and connecting them with stable, loving homes in times of need.
