Throughout his acclaimed career, Dr. Sambursky has garnered 25 years of professional experience in the field of Ophthalmology. His areas of expertise are in both LASIK and cataract surgery with an impressive success rate. He personally performs a thorough comprehensive eye examination to determine which treatment options are best for each patient. Patients receive world-class surgical expertise typically found in a large city, right in Broome County.
To advance professionally in Ophthalmology, Dr. Sambursky completed his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University. Subsequently, he obtained a Masters degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, and later returned to Syracuse for Medical School. Following medical school, Dr. Sambursky completed an Internship in Rochester, NY in a Strong Memorial program and then completed a residency program at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. During his final year, he was invited to serve as Chief Resident. Furthering his training, Dr. Sambursky then went on to the world-renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University and completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
Remaining abreast of the latest industry developments, Dr. Sambursky maintains active memberships and affiliations with the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the NYS Ophthalmology Association.
Outside of the everyday responsibilities of his private practice, Dr. Sambursky is also dedicated to spending time with his family and enjoys playing golf and tennis.
