As a highly trained and experienced general dentist, Dr. Klein is the primary practitioner and owner of Alpine Dental Practice since 1981, dedicated to oral health as it relates to total health. Trained in integrative and holistic techniques, her office is a mercury free environment where special care is taken in amalgam, /mercury filling removal, utilizing an amalgam separator for the safety of our aquifers, along with distilled water lines, it’s as clean as it gets! In fact, Dr. Klein has not placed a mercury filling since 1988! Dr. Klein is a long standing member of The International Association of Mercury Safe Dentists (IAMSD).
Dr. Klein takes a unique, whole body approach to oral health, combining sound dental science, techniques, technology and personal experience, with deep concern for her patients’ health and emotional well-being and comfort.
Dr. Klein specializes in treating people with issues like
sleep medicine/sleep apnea and related issues, jaw pain, headaches and bruxism
through the use of oral appliances. She has attended extensive continuing
education specifically related to these disorders, and is one of few dentists
in Illinois who specializes. Dr. Klein
has over 37 years of experience in the field of general dentistry, and has been
board certified in dental sleep medicine as well as board certification in
treating craniofacial pain and TMJ disorders for nearly 2 decades.
Throughout her education and training, Dr. Klein attended a one year study as
an exchange student in Switzerland, Marquette University, at Carthage College. Following this, Dr. Klein received her
Bachelor of Science degree in zoology with a minor in German from University of
Wisconsin and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University
in 1981. Dr. Klein is diplomate status by both The American Academy of
Craniofacial Pain and The American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
To further her professional development, Dr. Klein is a
member of the Chicago Osteopathic Study Group since 2005.
In acknowledgement of her professional achievements, Dr. Klein was honored with
a “Master of Excellence” designation from The American Academy of Craniofacial
Pain in 2006. She is also the recipient of the 2016 Patient's Choice Award by
Open Care and was featured in The Suburban Woman magazine in 2017.
When she is not working, Dr. Klein enjoys music, gardening,
and water sports.
Debora dedicates this recognition in loving memory of her parents Eric and
Janet Knauer. She also dedicates this recognition to her husband, Peter W
Tomaschtik, USMC Vietnam Veteran to whom she’s been married more than 20 years.
