A seasoned engineer, Debra has been in the industry for several years and is currently seeking work in the Twin Cities area. Specializing in civil and structural engineering as well as buildings and project management, Debra is a licensed Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering in California, Michigan and Minnesota and holds certification as a Project Management Professional and LEED (R) Accredited Professional.

With millions of dollars of proven and award winning projects, Ms. Jacobs has been involved in the panning, construction, and project management, serving as project manager and point person for communications between stakeholders for both new construction and renovations of bridges, multilevel parking structures, historic buildings, improvements to libraries, community centers, fire stations, seismic bracing retrofits, and post-disaster (flood & earthquake) assessment & subsequent repairs.

Ms. Jacobs has been a part of LEED projects with a clear vision of balancing stakeholder needs, budgets, schedules, and integration of sustainability into all phases of projects from concept to close out.  Ms. Jacobs’ experience has included extensive interaction with both public and private agencies related to Capital Improvement Projects.  She is very familiar with building codes, building systems & their interoperability, structural calculations, LEED® NC v2009 documentation requirements, artist selection, historic structures & grants, and report writing.

Recognized as a Distinguished Leader for Region A of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and a VIP Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), Debra maintains affiliation with SWE, ASCE, NAPW, USGBC-MN, and PMI.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from Stanford University. She is presently looking for a new Project Management position in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area.
