DENNIS W. DOHNAL - US MAGISTRATE JUDGE

Dennis W. Dohnal is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Legal Professionals. Dennis is a United States Magistrate Judge with the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia.

As a Magistrate Judge, Dennis has misdemeanor jurisdiction in criminal matters as well as responsibility fro preliminary process and related proceedings in felony cases. He also has jurisdiction in civil cases with the consent of the parties and he issues recommendations to the trial court upon its request on any issue. Dennis also conducts mediation sessions and he has consistently maintained an 80% success rate.

Prior to his position as Magistrate Judge, Dennis was a Lawyer with the firms of Brenner, Dohnal, Evans and Yoffy P.C. as well as Bremner, Baber and Janus.

Additionally, Dennis has received numerous honors for his outstanding contributions to the field of Law. He received the Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Award from the Virginia State Bar Criminal Law Section and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America and rated “AV” in Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory. Furthermore, Dennis is listed in Who’s Who in America (2009-Present), Princeton Global Network Registry, and was named 2010 Virginia Leader of the Year in Law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.

Dennis earned his J.D. from George Washington National Law Center and his B.A. in History from Bucknell University.
