Mr. Fournet is a distinguished Certified Public Accountant whose career spans nearly four decades of client-centered service. As a partner at Grantham Poole CPAs from 2001 to 2026, he helped shape the firm’s reputation for excellence in full-service accounting, audit, and tax, with Inside Public Accounting ranking the firm among the Top 300 in the nation. His leadership culminated in election to the firm’s seven-member governing board in 2026.

Recognized for deep expertise in nonprofit accounting, Mr. Fournet served as partner in charge of Grantham Poole’s nonprofit practice. His approach emphasizes high professional standards and tailored solutions that reflect a steadfast commitment to client care and long-term relationships across sectors.

Mr. Fournet began his career in 1988 at a local CPA firm, later joining Poole, Cunningham and Reitano, PA in 1994 before the merger that formed Grantham Poole. He has been a CPA since 1988, building a record of technical proficiency and trusted advisory service that has earned the respect of peers and clients alike.

Active in the Mississippi Society of CPAs, Mr. Fournet served two terms on the Board, held Central Chapter roles as vice president and treasurer, and contributed to the Governmental and Auditing Committee. His civic leadership includes chairing the St. Dominic's Health Services Foundation Board and serving as treasurer and board member for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Mississippi, as well as board roles with Mississippi Opera, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of MS/LA, the ALS Association of MS/LA, Saint Joseph Catholic School, St. Richard's Catholic School, and the Assissi Early Learning Center. He also participated in the Leadership Jackson program in 2003–2004. In addition, in the Spring of 2027 he will serve three year terms on the following Saint Dominic Health Services Board (the Hospital) and Mississippi State University Adkerson School of Accountancy Advisory Council. 

His achievements have been widely recognized. In 2025, Mr. Fournet was named to Forbes’ Top 200 Certified Public Accountants in the nation—the only Mississippian on the list—and received the Mississippi Society of CPAs Public Service Award. In 2026, he was honored on Forbes’ Best in State Top Certified Public Accountants list. Earlier, he earned the Dedication and Courage Award with the Mississippi Pride National Minor League Football Team in 1996 and was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who.

Mr. Fournet earned both a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in accounting from Mississippi State University in 1988. During college he was active with Lambda Chi Alpha and Pi Sigma Epsilon, was a dean’s list scholar, and participated with the Mississippi State University soccer team.

Beyond work, Mr. Fournet is an avid runner who regularly competes in charity 5K events across Central Mississippi and participates annually as a St. Jude Hero in the St. Jude Race in Memphis, Tennessee, raising more than $1,000 each year since 2016. His mentors include Bob Cunningham, Jim Poole, and Alan Arrington, and he credits his parents and firm leaders for guidance. He is married to Brandi and is the father of one son, John Brody.

Looking ahead, Mr. Fournet plans to retire after completing current commitments to focus on volunteer work, spend more time with his spouse and son, support his son’s educational pursuits at Mississippi State University, and continue championing nonprofit causes, including St. Dominic's Health Services Foundation and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Mississippi. His guiding philosophy centers on client care, high professional standards, hard work, dedication to service, and the value of surrounding himself with outstanding colleagues and mentors.
