Douglas has authored numerous articles and has lectured regularly on a variety of topics including trial techniques, and bad faith and insurance coverage. Additionally, Douglas is a state qualified Arbitrator, and has served as selected mediator, panel and sole Arbitrator, in a number of matters.

In addition, Douglas is a past President of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and is a past National Director of DRI. He has also served as the Florida State Representative to DRI for six years and currently serves on a number of appointed committees. Douglas has also helped found Hope Outreach Center, Inc., a community outreach program in Broward County, Florida, and served as its President for many years.

Douglas received both his J.D. and A.B Degrees from Nova University and Boston College respectively.
