Bakersfield, CA — Continental Who’s Who is recognizing Dr. S. Faye Snyder as a Top Psychologist for her outstanding contributions to the field of psychology.
Dr. Snyder is dual licensed and has contributed an essential overview in developmental psychology, by identifying the most critical childhood experiences, from the best and most replicated research, and how these experiences impact one another. Until Dr. Snyder proposed the overview, developmental psychology did not serve as a cohesive tool to understand the formation of personality and behavior. She has earned a reputation as a prolific theoretician, clinician, and forensic evaluator, excelling in child custody theory and assessment, as well as underlying causes of criminal behavior.
Dr. Faye, originally established her non-profit The Institute for Professional Parenting (TIPP) in 1988, now known as the PaRC foundation, which is dedicated to working with parents and high-conflict families. At PaRC, Dr. Snyder serves as the clinical director and trains interns in the Causal Theory and forensic assessment, as well as treating trauma and teaching relationship skills.
Dr. Snyder was a controversial professor at California State University, Northridge, where she taught her students how to identify the flaws in research and how to evaluate a childhood for its long-term impact, including whether a person is headed for a rewarding or conflicted life.
Dr. Snyder’s Causal Theory was born from her life’s search for clarity, including her studies as a Zen Buddhist and as a student of Historical and Dialectical Materialism. Applied to human behavior, the Causal Theory exclusively accounts for behavior and personality by understanding early childhood experiences.
Dr. Snyder developed a single-page score sheet of early experiences, which she has used to understand the behaviors and choices of serial killers and other violent criminals, as well as courageous, problem-solving people of merit and acclaim. Her fundamental expertise originates in her deep understanding of childhood needs and long-term ramifications of how well or badly these needs are met. Thus, understanding can manifest in prediction and prevention. Dr. Snyder maintains that her most significant contribution to the field of psychology is her Predictor Scale and Score Sheet, including her selection of critical childhood experiences, such that their mutuality can be taken to explain and predict stability, resilience, and stamina in adult behavior.
Dr. Snyder completed her undergraduate studies with an Associate of Arts Degree in Pre-Law in 1969 at Brevard Community College and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 1972 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She studied sociology for one year at New York University in 1978, and left to pursue her Masters of Arts Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from California Graduate Institute/Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 1988. Upon realizing that she needed higher credentials to present her theory on a national level, Dr. Snyder obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ryokan College of Psychology in 2005. She also holds certifications in Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Treating Sex Offenders, Child Custody Evaluations, and Treating Trauma.
Active in her field, Dr. Snyder maintains active affiliations with the American Psychological Association, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the National Association of Anger Management, the California Coalition on Sex Offending, the International Psychohistory Association and other local organizations.

In her spare time, Dr. Snyder visits her grandson, born May 6, 2016. She and her husband, Ron, had one late-in-life son, now known as Scott Clifton. He is an Emmy winning daytime actor, who has played Dillon Quartermaine on General Hospital; Schuyler Joplin in One Life to Live; and Liam Spenser, III on The Bold and the Beautiful. Clifton says he prefers soaps because he gets to spend more time with his wife and child. What gives both his parents their greatest pride is his commitment to ethics, as a lifestyle.
