Dr. Kimberly Guess has dedicated more than three decades to empowering students through education, counseling, and leadership. Throughout her distinguished career with Fort Worth Independent School District, she has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to student advocacy, social emotional development, and academic achievement, helping students overcome barriers while preparing them for lifelong success.

Serving as a professional school counselor from 2008 until her retirement in 2025, Dr. Guess delivered comprehensive counseling services aligned with the American School Counselor Association National Model. Her expertise includes 504 coordination, ARD committee collaboration, dyslexia support, attendance interventions, credit recovery, college and career readiness planning, College Board Services for Students with Disabilities coordination, district equity initiatives, trauma response, and student leadership development. Earlier in her career, she served as a special education teacher, assistant principal, department chair, and special education lead teacher, building a well rounded foundation in educational leadership and student support.

Dr. Guess earned a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Walden University in 2021 and a Master of Education with Principal Certification from Concordia University Texas in 2010. Her academic achievements complement a career devoted to creating equitable educational opportunities and ensuring every student has the resources and encouragement needed to thrive.

She maintains active membership in the American School Counselor Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Throughout her career, she has been recognized by her school board for excellence in counseling and student advocacy, reflecting the lasting impact of her leadership and dedication to the students and families she has served.

Inspired by her parents, an Air Force veteran father and a mother who served as a nurse, Dr. Guess credits their examples of integrity, diligence, and excellence for shaping both her professional philosophy and personal values.

Looking ahead, Dr. Guess plans to launch a private practice focused on supporting and empowering individuals while expanding her impact as an educational consultant and college professor. She remains committed to helping students, educators, and families achieve positive outcomes through guidance, advocacy, and leadership.

Guided by the belief that social emotional development is just as important as academic achievement, Dr. Guess continues to inspire others through compassionate leadership, high emotional intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to providing every student with the best possible learning experience.
