Dr. Silk is the founder and medical director of Silk Vision and Surgical Center, where he has performed more than twenty five thousand advanced eye surgeries, including LASIK, cataract surgery, and complex corneal procedures. His career reflects a steadfast commitment to clinical excellence, surgical precision, education, and innovation in advanced eye care.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Silk is also an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and The Cornea Society. His dedication to education is evident through his extensive academic involvement. He previously served as an assistant professor at George Washington University, where he trained residents in cataract surgery, and as a clinical instructor at Georgetown University School of Medicine, supervising residents in surgical procedures.

For more than eighteen years, Dr. Silk has served as a faculty member at Inova Fairfax Hospital, widely recognized as Virginia’s number one hospital and among the leading medical centers in the nation. In this role, he has contributed significantly to both patient care and surgical education, helping shape the next generation of ophthalmologists.

Dr. Silk is also an international lecturer and volunteer physician who has shared his expertise with communities around the world, further extending the impact of his work beyond his practice. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Marshall University, completed his residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, and pursued fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh.

His dedication to patient care and professional excellence has earned him recognition as a Northern Virginia Top Doctor, underscoring his reputation as a trusted leader in advanced ophthalmology. Guided by the philosophy of being fearless and always going the extra mile to pursue his passions, Dr. Silk continues to advance the field of eye care through innovation, mentorship, and service.
