Elizabeth Tenny is widely recognized for her expertise in vascular sonography and allied health, distinguished by a steadfast commitment to patient care, clinical precision, and professional excellence. In 2024, she was promoted to Senior Vascular Sonographer at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, a milestone reflecting her advanced technical proficiency and leadership within a high acuity academic medical environment.
In her current role, Ms. Tenny helps oversee a rapidly expanding vascular laboratory that now includes a team of 12 technicians. Managing this growth has required focused attention to workflow optimization, quality assurance, staff development, and the consistent maintenance of high clinical standards. She takes particular pride in her promotion, viewing it as recognition of her dedication to accuracy, patient safety, and her ability to lead and support a diverse clinical team.
Ms. Tenny earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with a minor in psychology from Texas A and M University in 2009, where she was named to the National Deans List. She holds multiple professional credentials, including Registered Vascular Technologist and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She also maintains certification in basic life support for health care providers from the American Heart Association.
With 15 years of industry experience, Ms. Tenny has contributed significantly to the field through published educational workshops and peer reviewed articles. Her work includes masterclasses on abdominal aortic aneurysms, dialysis fistulas, and lower extremity vascular imaging, as well as journal publications addressing rare and complex vascular conditions. In November 2025, she received Influential Women recognition, further underscoring her impact within the profession.
Ms. Tenny remains actively involved in professional organizations including the Society for Vascular Ultrasound and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She is also a lifetime member of Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key International Honor Society and volunteers with a local animal rescue. Looking ahead, she remains committed to continued growth, education, and excellence in vascular ultrasound.
