Dentistry in recognition of his role as a Dentist and Assistant Professor Frank
J. Karfes, DDS & Case Western University Dental School.
A private, local dentistry office serving the local
residents of the Mayfield Village, Ohio region, Frank J. Karfes, DDS has served
the area for over forty years. Dedicated to providing quality dental service,
the practice specializes in the areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery and
teaching.
With over fifty years of experience in the field of dentistry, Dr. Frank J. Karfes
has established himself as a prominent professional. Dr. Karfes is the only
dentist to be on the medical staff of St. Vincent’s Charity Medical Center and
was the former President of the medical staff. Dr. Karfes was inspired by a
dentist he met in his Dad’s office building who told his dad that he had “great
hands.” When asked his advice to newcomers in the industry, Dr. Karfes states
the importance of making “sure you are dedicated” and enjoy taking care of
people. He attributes his success to “doing the right thing.”
Early in his career, Dr. Karfes attained his
Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in
Pennsylvania. Thereafter, Dr. Karfes completed his internship at the New
York-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center and his residency at the St.
Vincent Charity Medical Center. Later, Dr. Karfes would then go onto complete
his fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of
Medicine.
In an effort to further advance his professional development, Dr. Karfes is an esteemed
member of several organizations including the St. Vincent Charity Medical
Center and Marymount Hospital.
Additionally, Dr. Karfes is an elected member of the American
Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Ohio Society of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Great Lakes Society of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery.
Advocate of the Cleveland Orchestra, when he is not working Dr. Karfes enjoys
doing yard work and is a boy scout.
Dr. Karfes dedicates this recognition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James
Karfes.
