Tollesboro, KY - Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Jonathan Shane Wallingford is acknowledged as a Pinnacle Professional of The Year for his contributions to Ball Mill Manufacturing and Custom Industrial Machinery.
Mr. Wallingford serves as the owner and president of JSB Industrial Solutions, Inc. (Economy Ball Mill), where he leads a long-established provider of ball mills and custom industrial machinery. Since 2012, he has overseen major components and purchasing, directed sales and general management, coordinated work schedules, managed customer relationships, and supervised laboratory testing operations. His leadership has advanced the company’s standing in manufacturing and industrial machinery.
Under Mr. Wallingford’s direction, JSB Industrial Solutions delivers a comprehensive suite of products and services, including equipment for pulverization and rare earth minerals processing with capabilities to reduce materials to 65 microns. The company also provides laboratory testing services alongside design and engineering, sales, and customer support, reflecting a full-service approach to client needs. His expertise spans entrepreneurship, visionary leadership, innovation, ball mill manufacturing, custom machinery manufacturing, industrial operations, and international business development.
Confronting severe pandemic-era disruptions, Mr. Wallingford executed a strategic turnaround by overhauling the company website and deploying digital marketing initiatives that included search engine optimization, geofencing, and targeted online advertising. These measures restored growth and positioned the business for long-term success. He also developed a five-point acquisition framework that he employed in acquiring Economy Ball Mill, reinforcing a disciplined approach to expansion.
Building on that momentum, Mr. Wallingford completed construction of a new manufacturing facility in January 2026 and converted the former facility into a full-scale laboratory. He has expanded the company’s focus on serving the rare earth minerals processing market with high-performance equipment, and he actively underscores the firm’s design and engineering capabilities—supported by his academic credentials and the company’s 70-year legacy—to meet the expectations of discerning customers in a specialized niche.
Before leading JSB Industrial Solutions, Mr. Wallingford worked as a production technician in the paper industry, where a tuition reimbursement program supported his pursuit of higher education while he gained hands-on experience in industrial operations. He began his career in the mining sector, serving in blasting, drilling, roof control, and heavy equipment operator roles—experience that provided a practical foundation for his later achievements in manufacturing leadership.
Mr. Wallingford holds an associate degree in applied science from the Kentucky Community & Technical College System and earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Morehead State University, including a master’s in engineering management. He serves on advisory boards for the Kentucky Community & Technical College System and Morehead State University and is a member of Lions International. His recognitions include the State of Kentucky’s Small Business of the Year Manufacturing award (2016), the Melvin Jones Award from Lions International, and designation as a Kentucky Colonel in 2016.
Committed to community improvement, Mr. Wallingford has invested in local projects, including renovating a baseball field with new bases, fencing, and utility fields, and matching a $5,000 donation to provide knee braces for a high school football team. Married with three adult children, he credits perseverance and determination as the guiding principles behind his professional success.
Looking ahead, Mr. Wallingford plans to scale and expand the business over the next five years, potentially through acquiring a complementary manufacturer of downstream processing equipment, while increasing annual revenue and continuing to produce both primary and auxiliary equipment. He ultimately envisions a sale of the company to a private equity firm and, following an exit, hopes to teach as an adjunct or support vocational education while spending more time on his farm and traveling with his wife.
