KHADIJA HARIS, MBBS - CEO & FOUNDER

Newmarket, Canada – Khadija Haris, MBBS, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Lifetime Achiever for her outstanding work in the Medical field and acknowledgment for pioneering a novel concept in global medicine through the establishment of an affordable and equitable care center for marginalized population in rural Pakistan.

Since graduating from Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan, and earning her MBBS degree, Dr Haris has been practicing Medicine for nine years and has impacted the lives of countless patients through her strong interpersonal and advocacy skills. Her latest proud addition to global healthcare occurred when as a CEO, she founded Abdul Rahim Medical Centre, a state-of-the-art public welfare clinic that promotes patient-centered care for underserved communities in Pakistan. She delivers patient care independently through a mix of telemedicine and in-person visits as a primary care provider. In her aim to improve health care for the marginalized population of Pakistan, with a truly nominal fee-for-care (under a dollar) structure, her team provides exceptional medical care to the patients. Moreover, she has collaborated with local community leaders, NGO, specialists, and pharmaceutical companies to arrange for Free Medical Camps in remote areas to introduce the concept of periodic health examinations and also to provide free medications.

Committed to the care of people during the Covid-19 Pandemic, she travelled back to Pakistan to serve her community while ensuring a sustainable source of PPE for her staff and patients. She also implemented new protocols for Covid prevention and provided necessary training to promote basic hygiene and social distancing for the general population. Acting as a communication channel between Pakistan and Canada, Dr. Haris conducts biweekly virtual rounds with invited guest physicians from Canada to provide their expert opinions on challenging cases. Medical students from Pakistan are encouraged to perform electives in her clinic to gain insight on patient-centered care in the outreach domain. Making use of technology, she is effectively managing her clinic remotely by providing quality assurance and appropriate training.

Dr. Haris has gained valuable experience through her many roles in international healthcare systems-independent family practice in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and various clinical assistant roles in Canada. She had been a Healthcare Ambassador for the Canadian Cancer Society, working extensively in the community to enhance awareness for cancer screening. She continues to play her part in empowering the vulnerable populations in her role as Shift Supervisor for Certified Listeners Society, where she provides emotional support via an online chat, audio, video platform while simultaneously training new volunteers.

An achiever in her field, she is registered as a Speaker at Star Conference scheduled for March 2022 (France), where she will be presenting her research paper on digital healthcare. To stay updated in her field and pay regards to her fellow physicians, Dr. Haris is an active member of AIPSO (Association of Physicians and Surgeons Ontario) as a lecturer and facilitator. She enjoys teaching medical theory as well as clinical skills to medical students as well as using her clinic as a platform. Moreover, she is a member of the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada as an educator, and advocates for healthcare delivery to rural areas.

Dr. Haris is married to Mr. Hafiz Haris bin Shahid, who has played a vital part in her success by supporting and believing in her potential. In her spare time, Dr. Haris enjoys exercising, yoga, and meditation, cooking healthy meals for friends and families who are trying to lose weight. She also enjoys art in its various forms and has used her skills in art to decorate pediatric wards in the hospitals where she has worked to bring joy to patients’ lives.

Dr. Haris is very passionate about giving back to her community. Her vision for affordable healthcare and accessibility has grown roots, and she hopes to draw compassionate collaboration from multiple medical professionals in the years to come. She is enthusiastically working on getting further training and establishing a broad-based Family Practice in Canada to continue the services she is so passionate about.
