LINDY V. FABRY, DNP, RN, WCC, DWC - ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Lindy V. Fabry, DNP, RN, WCC, DWC, has established a distinguished career in nursing education, combining extensive clinical expertise with an unwavering commitment to student success. As an associate professor and doctoral chair at Grand Canyon University, she is dedicated to preparing the next generation of nursing professionals through innovative teaching, individualized mentorship, and evidence based educational practices.

Dr. Fabry oversees student success initiatives that include learner reentry programs, individualized teaching plans, accessibility support, faculty collaboration, and doctoral project guidance. She teaches nursing and doctoral level courses while providing detailed, personalized feedback that helps students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

Dr. Fabry earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Madison Area Technical College in 2004, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Viterbo University in 2012, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University in 2016, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University in 2020. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University, with an anticipated graduation in 2028. She also holds certifications in wound care and diabetic wound care through the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy and maintains certifications through the American Heart Association.

Before transitioning into higher education, Dr. Fabry built a successful clinical career in nursing leadership. She served as Director of Medical Surgical and Intensive Care Services at Reedsburg Area Medical Center, where she established a wound care clinic and led outpatient infusion services, social services, and nursing case management. Her diverse background also includes experience in correctional healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and clinical instruction, providing her with a broad perspective that enhances her teaching and mentorship.

Her contributions to nursing education have earned numerous honors, including the Faculty Endurance Award and Rookie Chair of the Year from Grand Canyon University, the Innovation Teaching Award from Herzing University, Employee of the Month at Middleton Village Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, and nomination for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty. In 2023, she achieved another professional milestone with the publication of her first scholarly article in the American Journal of Nursing.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Fabry enjoys hosting the annual Fabry Fear Fair haunted carnival with the support and involvement of her family. She is grateful for the encouragement of her husband, Dean Fabry, and their three children, whose support has been instrumental throughout her career.

Looking ahead, Dr. Fabry plans to earn her Certified Nurse Educator credential, continue advancing in academic leadership, contribute additional scholarly publications, complete her Doctor of Education degree.

Guided by a philosophy centered on individualized instruction, accessibility, and unwavering support for every learner, Dr. Fabry remains committed to helping students build the knowledge, confidence, and critical thinking skills needed to excel in today's evolving healthcare environment.
