MARIA D. SOLOMON - CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK

Maria D. Solomon is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Health Care Professionals.

Maria currently works as a social worker within a private practice where she has spent the last decade. Prior to her current position, she worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital Payne Whitney Manhattan for fifteen years. 

Maria has extensive experience working with a spectrum of psychiatric disorders including affective, psychotic and particularly severe personality disorders, primarily Borderline Personality Disorder.  She has been trained in DBT cognitive/behavioral model as well as supportive psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy.  Throughout her career, she has worked with both individuals, families, and couples and is highly experienced working with high risk patients with recurrent suicidal and self harm behaviors. 

Maria earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College with a major in Russian language and literature; She has also received her M.A. from the NYU School of Social Work. In addition, she is certified as a DBT therapist, and holds a certificate from New York Psychoanalytic Institute where she completed training in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
