
Founded in 2010 by Mashell, JMC Electrical Contractor is an award winning 100% certified woman-owned union electrical contracting firm based in Southeast Michigan. The business has grown to extend their services to the entire state of Michigan and since its inception six years ago, JMC’s sales have grown 1,164%.
In September of 2015, a new division of JMC Electrical was founded: JMC Technology Group, specializing in turnkey security solutions and low voltage installations. JMC Electrical Contractor provides solutions and systems management for projects ranging from single story architecture to high rise office complexes as well as services for various corporate campuses, hotels, gaming facilities, industrial, educational, medical and law enforcement facilities.
As CEO and Owner, Mashell is responsible for the following: entrepreneurship, leadership, mentoring, management, electrical contracting, and financial management. A member of the National Association of Professional Women, Mashell was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of The Year for her successes.
The Vice President of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Detroit Chapter 183, she maintains affiliation with NFIB, ASHE, NECA, NAWIC, Advancing Macomb and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) where she serves as President of the NAWBO/EXCEL Board and was the 2015/2016 Program Manager for their Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) program.
Through NAWBO, she received both the 2014 Top Ten “Up and Coming” award and the Greater Detroit Member of the Year for her successes and business acumen. Mashell also received an honorable mention for the 2014 Enterprising Women of the Year Award.
Additionally, Mashell maintains affiliation with the National Electrical Contractors Association of Southeast Michigan where she serves on the Labor Management Cooperation Committee. Recipient of the 2015 Enterprising Women of the Year Award and the 2016 Athena Award, she enjoys reading and traveling and can be found donating her charity to organizations towards education and female empowerment.
A graduate of Baker College, Mashell holds two Master of Business Administration degrees in Human Resource Management and Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration.
