Cincinnati, OH - Nirmalya Thakur, is being recognized by
Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in Activity Centric Computing
in acknowledgment of his pioneering research and outstanding contributions to
this field in his role with the University of Cincinnati.

Thakur is a Ph.D. Student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University
of Cincinnati (UC) with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction. His
groundbreaking research that has earned him incredible fame, immense
recognition, outstanding awards, and great repute from all over the world, aims
at bringing about a revolution to the future of Smart Homes and Smart Cities.
In his research that focuses at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction
with multiple disciplines like Data Science, Robotics, 5G, Machine Learning,
Internet of Things, Psychology, Natural Language Processing, Assistive Systems,
and Blockchain Technology; Mr. Thakur develops systems and applications that
would make the future of Smart Homes 'Activity-Aware' so that they can track,
analyze and predict human behavior at both macro and micro levels, to take a
holistic approach for fostering the biological, psychological, behavioral,
physical, mental and emotional well-being of its users, with a specific focus
on the elderly population.
His passion for impacting the lives of people and making the world a better
place through innovation and discovery has been reflected in his unparalleled
excellence in research in Activity Centric Computing and its related
disciplines. He was introduced to this field when he came to UC in August 2017
to pursue his graduate studies. Since then he has authored an astounding number
of 18 publications in the form of conference papers, journal publications, and
book chapters. He has delivered a total of 13 presentations in different
international conferences across the globe which includes the 3rd International
Conference on Human Interaction and Emerging Technologies (IHIET 2020), the 9th
Annual Information Technology and Mobile Communication Conference (IEMCON
2018), the 8th International Conference on Internet of Things (IoT 2018), the
IEEE 5G World Forum Conference (IEEE 5GWF 2018), the 8th Annual Computing and
Communication Workshop and Conference (CCWC 2018), and many more. He will be
delivering a Keynote Address at the upcoming Second International Conference on
Big Data and Advanced Wireless Technologies (BDAW 2020) in UK, where he is the
youngest speaker on the panel.
Owing to his remarkable fame and great repute in the international scientific
community, he has served as a Committee Member for multiple conferences in
Japan, China, Canada, and United States which includes – the IEEE International
Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics (SMC 2018), the 4th International
Workshop on Advanced Algorithms and Control Engineering (IWAACE 2020), the

Even though he hasn't received his Ph.D. yet, in view of his sheer excellence
in research and stellar achievements, several journals have included him on
their reviewer board and editorial team. He serves as a reviewer and has
reviewed papers for Journal of Big Data and Cognitive Computing, IEEE Access,
Journal of Applied Sciences, Journal of Social Sciences, Journal of Technology,
Mind, and Behavior, the Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems
Journal, the International Journal of Social Sciences and Education Research
and the Global Journal of Computer Science and Technology. He is currently
serving as an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Social
Sciences and Education Research and Acta Scientific Computer Sciences Journal.
Mr. Thakur is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the
Interaction Design Foundation (IDF), the Association for Information Systems
(AIS) and the IEEE Sensors Council. He also serves as an active Technical
Committee Member for the IEEE Computer Society on Intelligent Informatics, IEEE
Computer Society on the Internet, IEEE Computer Society on Learning Technology,
IEEE Computer Society on Software Engineering, IEEE Computer Society on Data
Engineering, IEEE Computer Society on Semantic Computing, IEEE Computer Society
on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Computer Society on
Visualization and Graphics and IEEE Computer Society on Real-Time Systems.
Nirmalya's career has been star-studded with numerous awards and recognitions
both from UC and beyond. Last year his biography was featured as a worldwide
press release by Marquis Who's Who, who since 1899 have chronicled the lives of
the most accomplished individuals and innovators from different fields across
the world in their annual publications. His immense contributions to the UC
research community have earned him several awards and accolades which includes
a $5000 Award from the Office of Research in 2020, the Interdisciplinary
Research Fellowship in 2018-19, and the Risk Management Award in 2018-19. He
has also featured as a celebrity guest on Bearcast Media, the official
student-run radio broadcast and media group at UC.
In addition to being an outstanding researcher with extensive research
experience and awe-inspiring accolades, Nirmalya is a licensed Android
Developer for Google Playstore, an Oracle Certified Java Professional, an
Oracle Certified SQL Developer, and an Oracle Certified PL-SQL Developer. He
has also completed more than 100 certification courses on LinkedIn Learning to
keep up to the latest technologies in his fields of interests.
Through his incredible work and remarkable achievements, Nirmalya is setting an
ambitious example for all 25-year old's like him, for the generations to come,
on how passion and dedication combined with hardwork, determination and
resilience can lead someone to achieve the pinnacle of success in their
respective fields of interests.
Nirmalya likes traveling, listening to music, and watching movies in his spare
time. He wishes to go on a world tour in the near future and has already
compiled a list of places that he wants to see!
