Brooklyn, NY/Continental Who’s Who/- Professor Orlando A. McAllister is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Higher Education. Mr. McAllister is an Assistant Professor of the Liberal Arts at The College of New Rochelle, School of New Resources – a non-traditional adult education program that awards a Bachelor’s Degree in the Liberal Arts and serves the urban community.    

For over fifteen years, Professor McAllister has flourished as the Department Head in Communications and Mathematics at the John Cardinal O’Connor Campus in the South Bronx. At the School of New Resources, Professor McAllister advises students, maps their career paths, and supervises adjuncts in the areas of communication, career guidance, and mathematics. In addition, he spearheads a student-centered course development process in the non-traditional approach to higher adult education in the philosophical tradition of John Dewey, an eminent social and educational reformist.

Professor McAllister has written, directed and edited two films entitled: "The Operation," a medical drama about a 6-year-old African-American girl dying from a rare kidney disease, and "Pool Slick Rick," a pool hustling film where McAllister plays the part of a pool hustler. He composes and plays his own theme songs on flute and recently released a single instrumental song entitled "City Trills," currently being played worldwide. 

Professor McAllister has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for his contribution in the areas of teaching mass media literacy and excellence in musical performance on flute. In addition, he is a social archivist, cameraman, and video editor for the United Nations & Global Affairs Committee dedicated to humanistic service and mathematical traditions in promoting United Nations' Millennium Development Goals. 

He earned an undergraduate and master's degree in Computer Science from The City College of New York and The CUNY Graduate Center after transferring from Howard University in Washington, D.C. as an Electrical Engineering major on a full-time baseball scholarship as a starting pitcher. 

Keeping cognizant of the changes in industry and education, Professor McAllister retains affiliations with the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Mathematical Society of America, the National Communication Association and the Writer's Guild of America East, and is a professional member of the Institute for Electrical, Electronics and Engineering (I.E.E.E.). Aside from his dedicated service to The College of New Rochelle, Professor McAllister spends much of his time in his community mentoring high school students in various academic subjects. He attributes his success to self-directed learning and a desire to achieve excellence and share the knowledge and wisdom he has gained in a shared community with educators.
