Ontario, Canada — Pamela Van Nest, CPCC, ACC, GCC, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Professional as the Founder and Life Coach at PVN Coaching.
A retired educator, Ms Van Nest has accrued 38 years of professional excellence in special education teaching. She was inspired to enter the field by the short life of her younger brother, who was born with Down Syndrome. Her teaching career spans both the United States and Canada, where she set up a unique program for students with developmental challenges. She taught life skills and coached students in developing job skills in their community. She continued as a consultant and an instructional coach, working and coaching with teachers to expand their professional expertise.
After experiencing the process of life coaching toward the end of her teaching career, she became motivated to coach others, and pursued her coach certification. She began her life coaching business, PVN Self-Compassion Coaching, in 2012.
Throughout her life coaching career, Ms. Van Nest has garnered a well-deserving reputation as an expert at guiding professional women nearing the end of their career, women who may be finishing their career, but not finished with their impact. She coaches them to reset and realign their passion, purpose, and impact going into the third act of their lives.
Pamela leads workshops, facilitates retreats and speaks to women about how to create the life they want. Combined with her experience as a teacher, consultant, and instructional coach, Ms. Van Nest addresses the power of the mind, the workings of inner self-talk, and the confidence and necessity of being compassionate with oneself to create a deep sense of purpose. She uses an integration of the Twelve Steps and self-compassion tools in addressing self-doubt, perfectionism, and deferring their dreams.
Among her academic achievements, Ms. Van Nest holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Toronto. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, a Certified Associate Coach through the International Coach Federation, and a Group Certified Coach.
As a way to give back to her community, Ms. Van Nest has created a number of fundraising events over the past four years to raise money for the local YWCA , and the Down Syndrome Association.
Ms. Van Nest is an active member in the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, The Women’s Business Network, and The Abraham Festival. She is President of Naturally Speaking Toastmasters.
After the COVID-19 pandemic passes, she will continue volunteering at Array Services and The John Howard Society.
In her spare time, Ms. Van Nest enjoys sewing, cross country skiing, kayaking, biking, and exercising.
