Mr. Murphy has an illustrious career with over 50 years of professional experience in certified financial planning and chartered life underwriting. His practice, Ray Murphy and Associates Inc., is a revered business located in Miami Lakes, Florida.
To further his professional development, Mr. Murphy studied a Chartered Life Underwriter designation through the University of Toronto in 1968. Mr. Murphy later took the Certified Financial Planner designation through the College for Financial Planning in 1984.
He began his career with the North American Life Association of Canada in Jamaica. After moving to America for domestic reasons, he joined Lincoln National Miami Financial Services in 1978. In 1989, he founded his own practice, Ray Murphy Associates Inc.
An active member of his field, Mr. Murphy is a member and former co-chairman of Education for the Florida Association of Life Underwriters. He is a member and former president of the Miami Association of Life Underwriters. Mr. Murphy is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, including 11 appearances at the Court of the Table. He retains active affiliations with the International Association of Financial Planners, the International Board of Financial Planners, the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and the National Association of Life Underwriters.
As a testament to his professional excellence, Mr. Murphy was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who. For many years, Mr. Murphy has been named a recipient of the industry’s National Quality Award. He has additionally been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry and the 25th edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest. He remains involved in the industry to improve products and services and aids his company in developing agents to a level of commendable success.
Outside of work, Mr. Murphy enjoys thoroughbred horse racing and following tennis and cricket.
