Toronto, ON-Susan Langdon is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Fashion in recognition of her role as Executive Director and CEO of Toronto Fashion Incubator.
As the world’s first fashion incubator, Toronto Fashion Incubator is an award-winning nonprofit entity. For almost a quarter century, Susan has served as a fervent, dedicated and assiduous promoter of the Canadian fashion industry. Known for her inspirational leadership and her ability to foster talent and innovation most notably by generously giving her time to mentor many of Canada’s most successful designers and entrepreneurs, Susan has initiated programs and opportunities at home and abroad that celebrate and empower Canadian youth.
With many illustrious years of experience in the field of Fashion, Susan Langdon is revered for her remarkable contributions to the industry. Having served in her current capacity as CEO of Toronto Fashion Incubator for twenty-four years, Susan is commended for her expertise in the industry. Throughout her career, Susan has attained extensive expertise in leading and mentoring emerging fashion entrepreneurs on fashion business and brand development. Responsible for nonprofit management, Susan acts as overseer of all company growth and business development including but not limited to, financial reporting, government relations, promotion and marketing, fundraising and sponsorships, programming, community outreach and developing special events and seminars. Securing over $6.5 million in cash sponsorships and grants for the Toronto Fashion Incubator, Susan has successfully targeted and acquired an additional $1 million in in-kind sponsorships.
While pursuing her educational endeavors at Ryerson University where she graduated, she was named the esteemed recipient of the Fashion Canada Award which disperses 5 awards annually nationally.
To further enhance her professional development, Susan is a distinguished fellow of several elite organizations including Fashion Group International. A well sought after guest speaker, Susan serves in the advisory committees for many post-secondary fashion institutions in Ontario. In her current capacity, Susan has also served as a judge for the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards, Design Sustainability Awards and the National Magazine Awards.
In recognition of her professional accolades, Susan was the recipient of the FGI Fashion Visionary Award; Icons of Empowerment Award; Community Appreciation Award; OWIT JoAnna Townsend Award; City of Toronto Industry Achievement Award; Woolmark Award of Distinction; and Ryerson Alumni Award & Hall of Fame Induction.
Charitable to various organizations, Susan is an active volunteer in her community. Susan began volunteering as a child rolling cancer bandages for patients, singing in the UNICEF children’s choir and later giving time to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.
