SYLVIA SIMONYI- ELMER - PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Sylvia Simonyi-Elmer is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Psychotherapists.  Sylvia is an Internationally Certified Play Therapist, as well as an Internationally Certified Sandplay Therapist.

Sylvia  has taught, trained, and supervised professionals from around the world in these areas of psychotherapy for 10 years. Currently, Sylvia runs a clinical psychotherapy practice with clientele ranging from childhood to adulthood with a variety of issues.

In addition, Sylvia has presented with Play Therapy International and has provided many workshops and training programs with both CAST and PTI. Her presentations discuss issues and treatment related to Eating Disorders, Youth Violence, and Attachment Disorders. Prior to her private practice, Sylvia worked at a treatment center for the dually-diagnosed as a Play/Sandplay Therapist and she was their Psychometrist.

Sylvia received her training in Psychometrics at the University of Toronto, Canada and received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Castlebridge University.  Sylvia is a member of Play Therapy International, The International Society of Sandplay Therapy, The Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy, and The Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists.

In the future, Sylvia hopes to continue her personal mission to value the uniqueness in people and look at each day as a learning experience.
