Dr. Thomas Wulf, Medical Director of the Emergency Room, leads a Level III trauma and certified stroke center, ensuring the highest standard of emergency care. Under his leadership, the emergency department treats over 30,000 patients annually, handling a broad range of medical issues with compassion and precision. His approach to patient care is deeply rooted in listening and understanding each individual's full medical history to provide the most effective treatment.

Dr. Wulf's diverse background in medicine and emergency response has shaped his expertise in acute patient care, trauma management, and stroke treatment. His journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, followed by experience as a paramedic, EMT instructor, and coordinator. He then pursued his Doctor of Medicine at Central America Health Sciences University in Belize before completing a Family Medicine residency at the University of New Mexico and its rural program in Roswell. Dr. Wulf is board certified in both family medicine and emergency medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Wulf plays a vital role in emergency services, serving as the Medical Director for Chaves County EMS and Fire Department and Medical Director for the National Championship Air Races. His commitment to medical education is evident in his position as the Regional Assistant Dean for Burrell Medical College in Las Cruces.

A veteran of the United States Air Force Special Operations "Para Rescue", Dr. Wulf's military service included rescuing downed pilots behind enemy lines, earning him the rank of Staff Sergeant. His discipline and leadership continue to influence his work in emergency medicine.
