Dr Elkholy is an interventional pain management specialist and the owner of
Precision Pain & Spine Institute. With eight offices in New Jersey and over
250 employees, Precision Pain & Spine Institute is the largest pain
management practice in the state. The doctor specializes in minimally invasive
procedures, including lumbar and cervical discectomy, and epidural injections,
all with minimal opioid use.
Dr. Elkholy has a passion for helping others in need. He is adept at providing
optimal patient care while striving to help patients achieve their healthiest,
pain-free life. Able to communicate well with patients and families, the doctor

Dr. Elkholy received his M.D. (a seven-year program) from Cairo University
School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his residency in internal
medicine in the United States at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He also
completed an anesthesia residency and a pain management fellowship at Albert
Einstein College of Medicine, where he was chief resident and resident of the
year. The doctor is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management.
The doctor became an assistant professor at Yale University School of Medicine
(1997-2000), teaching residents and fellows pain management, anesthesia, and
acupuncture. He became the Pain Management Center director at VA Hospital -
Yale University from 1997-2000. After leaving Yale University as an assistant
professor, he was honored to stay on board as a clinical assistant professor
from 2000-2002. Over the last several years, he has been in private practice
performing pain management acupuncture and anesthesia.
Among his professional memberships and affiliations, Dr. Elkholy is a member of
the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Elkholy has various publications and abstracts in addition to his awards
and honors. He has received a Certificate of Achievement Award from the New
York Academy of Medicine, as well as the Outstanding House Officer Award, the
Pain Management Directors Award, and the Chief Resident Award—all from Albert
Einstein College of Medicine.
Outside of his primary work, the doctor is the founder of the Talat Elkholy
Charitable Foundation, which distributes over $200,000 annually to sponsor
disadvantaged children for education in Africa.
The doctor would like to dedicate this recognition to the loving memory of his
parents, Talat and Essmat Elkholy. He also wishes to acknowledge his brothers
(Hakim, Mohamed, and Khaled), who are all medical professionals.
