
Gainesville, GA - Wiley S. Black, MD, FACS, is being
recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Legacy
Member (Retired) with a Lifetime Achievement in Vascular Surgery for his
work in the Medical field.
Dr Wiley S. Black worked in the Medical field for over 59
years, helping countless patients. He treated patients at his private practice
in Gainesville, GA. As a Vascular Surgeon, Dr. Black completed surgeries on the
arteries, blood vessels, veins, lymphatic system, and more. He often performed
surgeries to implant catheters, complete surgical reconstruction, or perform
minimally invasive measures. He often helped people with spider veins and
varicose veins, life-threatening aneurysms, and chronic pain or chronic medical
conditions. Dr. Black worked in private practice for over 40 years before
retiring.
To acheive his education, Dr. Black first earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Georgia. He then attended
the Medical College of Georgia, graduating with a Medical degree in 1962. Dr.
Black next completed a general surgical residency at Emory University
affiliated hospitals, followed by a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at New York
University Hospital.
Dr. Black is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons
(FACS), and is board certified in Vascular Surgery and General Surgery by the
American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is a nonprofit organization created to
certify surgeons who have met the criteria of education, training, and
knowledge in their fields or subspecialties of General Surgery.
He is a professional member of the Georgia Surgical Society
and the American Medical Association, and is a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons.
Now that he is retired, Dr. Black spends his time as a Board
Member with the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Gainesville, GA, a Member of the
Gainesville Rotary Club, and a volunteer with the Good News Charity Clinic. He is
also a Paul Harris Fellow.
