Buffalo, NY- Winston T. Lin is being recognized by
Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Education
as the Professor of Operations Management and Strategy at the State University
of New York at Buffalo.
Dr.
Lin has over 44 years of experience in his field, previously holding many
esteemed positions at SUNY Buffalo such as Undergraduate Program Chair. He
currently is serving as Professor of Operations Management and Strategy and
Associate Editor, Decision Support Systems; he is noted for his expertise in
E-Commerce, IT, M.I.S. Management, Information Systems, and Operations
Management. Revered in the education field, Dr. Lin has published nearly 100
articles in refereed proceedings and leading professional and academic journals.
He also has published two research book chapters and two scholarly books. Dr.
Lin’s papers have been presented at more than 83 national and international
conferences. He has given numerous presentations around the globe and is widely
considered by his peers to be an industry leader.
Beginning his education at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Lin
relocated to the United States to round-out his education. He went on to
Northwestern University to obtain his Ph.D. and has remained in the states ever
since, whilst maintaining ties with his nation of origin. He maintains
professional affiliations with the Decision Sciences Institute, American
Economic Association, and Production and Operations Management Society.
In recognition of his contributions to the education field, Dr. Lin has
received numerous research grants and has been honored with multiple
significant awards, including the Best Paper Award from the Multinational
Finance Society (2001) and an Excellent Scholar/Sustained Achievement Award
from The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (2004). He
received the Best Interdisciplinary Paper Award at the 44th National Conference
of the Decision Sciences Institute in 2013, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a
recipient of honorable mention for the 2015 Institute for Supply Management
Best Paper Award at the 75th Academy of Management Annual Meeting, in
Vancouver, Canada.
A published author, Dr. Lin has composed numerous articles since 1977.
Recently, he co-authored “A Partial Adjustment Valuation Approach with
Stochastic and Dynamic Speeds of Partial Adjustment to Measuring and Evaluating
the Business Value of Information Technology”, which was published in the
European Journal of Operational Research.
When not at work, Dr. Lin enjoys swimming, fishing, walking, and watching
classic movies.
Dr. Lin would like to dedicate this recognition to his Ph.D. advisor Dr. B.
Stigum.
