Ms Conti-O'Brien pursued higher education at Salve Regina University where she earned two Bachelor's degrees, one in Spanish and the other in Journalism, in 1989. She also finished postgraduate coursework at Sacred Heart University where she obtained a teaching certification in 1996. The business professional attributes her professional accomplishments to her educational background and teaching experience.   

Prior to opening her business, Ms. Conti-O'Brien held teaching positions in Connecticut, including a Spanish and Language Arts middle school teacher at All Saints Catholic School from 1993 to 1996 and a Spanish and French teacher for 8th grade at Flood Middle School from 1996 to 1998. She transitioned to 7th and 8th grade as a Spanish Teacher between 1998 and 2017.

Ms. Conti-O’Brien launched Red Rooster Cookie Jar in 2018 after rediscovering a family recipe. She explained that after she produced and distributed several batches of the cookies, she quickly recognized the potential for a lucrative business opportunity. The businesswoman asserts that while she unexpectedly ventured into the world of entrepreneurship, she enjoys her work and has broadened her selection of baked goods by creating fresh recipes and incorporating distinctive combinations.
